About QRLume

QRLume is a forensic QR code scanner for iPhone, iPad and Mac, built for investigators and security professionals who need to know what a code holds before anyone acts on it. Where a camera app offers a link to tap, QRLume treats each scan as evidence. It reads QR, Aztec and PDF417 codes, one code per image, from the camera, Photos or an image file; it does not read 1-D barcodes. Each code is examined on the device, inside the App Sandbox. Nothing opens, dials or downloads on its own. Forensic Pro unlocks the report, the evidence log and PDF export. The report shows the decoded payload, a hex dump, an entropy score and six local checks for hostile patterns, with a verdict that says when those checks could not examine the whole payload. No threat database is consulted, and the report says so: its Threat Database panel reads NOT CHECKED rather than calling a code clean. Every scan is logged with a SHA-256 digest of its image, imported image files are hashed byte for byte, and each PDF exhibit records when and how its evidence was obtained.

QRLume is built by ProfWorkBench, LLC and distributed only through the App Store, as one universal purchase for iPhone, iPad and Mac. Scanning and analysis run entirely on your device. QRLume sends no analytics, crash logs or usage data to ProfWorkBench, and ProfWorkBench never receives your scans: that is the Zero Telemetry promise. The only network traffic QRLume initiates goes to Apple. StoreKit checks purchases and carries no scan data. While iCloud Sync is on, your evidence records, scanned payloads included, also go to your own iCloud account; end-to-end encryption of that data requires Advanced Data Protection.
